Inauguration of the Official Master’s Degree in School Librarianship and Reading Promotion

Last September 13, the fifteenth edition of the Master’s in School Librarianship and Reading Promotion (academic year 2023-24) was inaugurated. The event counted with the speeches of Dr. Miquel Térmens, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Audiovisual Media of the UB, Dra. Georgeta Ion, Vice Dean of Mobility and Students at the Faculty of Education Sciences of the UAB, and Dr. Dolors Masats, Director of the Language, Literature and Social Sciences Teaching Department. The inaugural conference was given by Àgata Losantos, literary mediator and ex-student of the master’s, with the title “In the Woods everything is connected. A seed to make you want to read in secondary school”.

The Master’s in School Librarianship and Reading Promotion is inter-university (UAB/UB) and focuses on the development of knowledge and skills around school library management and reading promotion strategies in a wide range of educational and social contexts, with an interdisciplinary, creative and a culturally-sensitive look. It is jointly coordinated by Dra. Cristina Aliagas (UAB) and Dr. Monica Baró (UB).
